# Add Policy Version

POST /{policyId}

#### Description

Creates a new version of an existing policy identified by its ID, capturing updated content, metadata, or compliance references.

## Query parameters:

  - `policyId` (string, required)
    Gets policy versions by this policy ID.

  - `name` (string, required)
    Example: "Password Policy Version"

  - `revisionStatus` (string, required)
    Enum: "approval", "draft", "effective", "retired"

  - `nextRevisionDate` (string)
    Date by which the next revision of the policy version is needed. Persisted at noon UTC on the submitted value's UTC calendar day.
    Example: "2025-06-15T12:00:00Z"

  - `nextReviewDate` (string)
    Date set to start the next review cycle of the policy version. Persisted at noon UTC on the submitted value's UTC calendar day.
    Example: "2025-06-16T12:00:00Z"

  - `approvedDate` (string)
    Date when the policy version was approved. A submitted value is persisted at noon UTC on its UTC calendar day; when set by the server on approval, it is the time the approval was granted.
    Example: "2025-06-15T12:00:00Z"

  - `retiredDate` (string)
    Date when the policy version was retired. A submitted value is persisted at noon UTC on its UTC calendar day; when omitted and set by the server on a status change, it is the time of that change.
    Example: "2025-06-15T12:00:00Z"

  - `effectiveDate` (string)
    Date when the policy version becomes effective. A submitted value is persisted at noon UTC on its UTC calendar day; when omitted and set by the server on a status change, it is the time of that change.
